After a long hiatus owing to a difficult semester, I’m back with The Week Above! Let’s get into it, shall we?
Mercury trine Pallas, Sun sextile Chiron - May 26th
Mercury is the planet of the organizational, analytical mind, and Pallas is the asteroid dealing with creative, strategic thinking. With Mercury in their home sign of Gemini, the potential for brilliance is high this Sunday, as the Mercury trine Pallas transit sparks potential for new ideas and the details of putting those ideas into action.
There’s a bit of a sadboi note in the air at the same time, however, as this Sun sextile Chiron transit can bring up issues of pain and anger, which may be felt more strongly with the Moon in Pisces amping up emotions. The sextile aspect is a soft one though, so some softboi is in there with the sadboi vibe, and I wouldn’t expect most people to have much of a blowup, especially while Mars is in Cancer, and his weapon of choice right now seems to be milkshakes.
Juno conjunct North Node, Juno trine Neptune, Sun opposite Ceres - May 28th
Juno, asteroid of partnership (romantic, business, or otherwise, but focused on long-term), dives into the North Node as she trines that most nebulous planet, Neptune. Any asteroids or planets conjunct the North Node will be amped up and driven to extremes, becoming more of whatever they are, and particularly having the urges of their natures made insatiable. Juno conjunct the North Node creates an insatiable urge for partnership, and Juno in Cancer the need to build a family is part of the story as well. Expect baby fever and marriage fever with this astrology. But with Juno trine Neptune at the same time, there isn’t a lot of clarity around what to do with this fever in practical terms, so getting lost in daydreams and ideals of what kind of partnership and family you want is the more likely outcome. Try not to miss your stop on the bus or exit on the highway with such intense daydreaming going on!
The Sun opposite Ceres transit highlights how we nurture our bodies and care for the structures that keep us safe and maintain our lives. Ceres in Sagittarius asks us to call upon our deeper belief structures in service of our physical well-being, and vice versa as well. The Sun in Gemini makes all of this more present, as well as showing the challenges of being a human with an ego and a monkey mind trying to keep the body running and the belief structures authentic.
All-Day Void Moon, Venus sextile Neptune, Mercury opposite Jupiter, Juno opposite Saturn - May 30th
The Moon goes void of course on May 30th at 11:08am Eastern Time, and stays void of course until she enters Taurus at 12:43am on May 31st. The void of course moon is a bad time to start projects, schedule or plan events and meetings, or make purchases. Either nothing will come of it, things will meander at random, or with purchases they will go unused or become a source of regret. I recommend any meetings scheduled this day which you can’t avoid be allowed to go with the flow and not worry about how they’re “supposed” to end up happening. Your best case scenario for actions taken during the void moon is that the original plan gets scrapped and you end up going in a completely different, much better direction when the time comes to make good on the plans. This happens often enough that I wouldn’t worry too much or get too gloom and doom about it. Just don’t go shopping Thursday.
On the other hand, inner work is happening even if outer work is flummoxed. The Venus sextile Neptune transit brings solid, practical terms and formations into the daydreaming of the Juno trine Neptune transit. Venus is in Taurus, and with Venus in Taurus the love we wish to share is more easily felt and embodied. Keep those ideals in your back pocket while you think about how best to act on them.
The Mercury opposite Jupiter transit, by contrast, can create conflicts between what we want to accomplish in practical terms and what we truly believe, and between the specific details of our plans and the larger visions we steer our ships by.
Venus trine Saturn, Venus sextile Juno, Sun trine Pallas - May 31st
The Venus trine Saturn transit helps solidify even further what we want from our relationships in practical terms, but also forces us to get real about what is and is not working in our relations with others. The Venus sextile Juno transit brings more heart into our desires to partner, and helps lead up to Sunday’s Finger of God aspect with Jupiter. The urge to merge is right there, and the love of love is present and abundant. We want what we want, and we want it with whom we want it. Hearts open and act in accordance with their natures. Saturn in the mix forces us to realize when we have to say no to partnerships in love, business, or other areas of life because they just aren’t grounded in reality. But with a trine aspect he does so relatively gently. All of this happening on Friday, Venus’s day, just emphasizes Venus in Taurus event further, and her movements towards sensual embodiment and goodness of heart.
Meanwhile the Sun trine Pallas aspect illuminates the creative life force within us and what we want to do with that innovative fire. It plays nicely with the artistic, aesthetic impulses of Venus in Taurus, and the physical manifestation of those impulses brought forth with the Venus trine Saturn transit. Allow yourself to create on Friday, and hear out the visions that come to you, both artistic and romantic.
Finger of God / Yod Aspect — Venus quincunx Jupiter, Juno quincunx Jupiter; Taurus Moon conjunct Venus - June 1st
The Finger of God aspect, also known as the Yod aspect, puts a lot of pressure on a single point, in this case Jupiter in Sagittarius at 20 degrees. (“Yod” rhymes with “good,” not “god” by the way.) Anything around 20 degrees Sagittarius is going to feel this pressure, particularly the partnership urges I mentioned above. But it will come through the lens of beliefs, ideals, and deeper meanings, as well as being more likely to manifest in a context having to do with religion, higher education, or that which is foreign (or from immigrants). Ask yourself what you truly want out of love, and if that fits your values and who you strive to be.
Also on this day, there’s an opportunity for a bit of good love magic, provided you don’t mind things get a bit intense along the way, and you’re on the West Coast of the United States. At 11:35am Pacific Time (approximately - check for your location). You’ve got the Moon in Taurus applying to conjoin Venus on the Midheaven, in the hour of Venus. She’s trining Pluto so things can get super intense and maybe end up involving a third party (which is good if you’re trying to draw two loves at once), but she’s in excellent shape and I’d be doing serious magic that day if I lived on the West Coast. Unfortunately anywhere east of there the Moon is applying to Saturn or not far enough away from him, so I wouldn’t be using this time for love magic anywhere but the Pacific time zone.
That’s all for this week! If you found this valuable and would like to learn more about your chart, you can book a reading here.
